ST.GC is pleased to present its
"14th Year Annual Summer Ball"
The event will be held at the prestigious Pearson Convention Centre, 2638 Steeles Ave. East in Brampton. This venue boasts better acoustics, additional space for the comfort of our guests, and complimentary parking.
St. George's College was founded 160 years ago by Jesuit Priests, after being exiled from Latin America and were sailing their way back to Europe, they were diverted to Jamaica because of a violent storm. The little school the Jesuits created back then had less than 20 students, grew to one that now educates over 1500 students annually. Since then, it produced many internationally known men from a variety of professions, men who have contributed the expertise in their field to the betterment of mankind, all over the world.
For 25 years now, the executive of the Old Boy's Association (Ontario Chapter), have donated their time, effort and money, to organize and keep the Association in good stead. Over this past quarter of a century, the Association has offered financial and social support for the school and it's students. Today, the chapter is alive, vibrant, continues to function from Toronto, and boasts a membership of over 700 of the school's past students.
In this, its 25th year of existence, the Association is holding its 14th. Summer Ball. The largest of any of the other Jamaican Alumni Associations' ball events, this annual Summer Ball hosts over 1,000 guests. Open to everyone, the 2010 Ball will be one to remember, as guests will be celebrating both the 160 Anniversary of the school's existence, and the St.GC Ontario Chapter's 25th. Anniversary.
